Where Do You Want to Take Your Life and Business?

Accomplishing goals are a key part of life’s journey. Growing up, we went through various education stages graduating at different levels. Each of these levels is celebrated with a ceremony of some type. And we all have achieved personal goals. In business, we have professional goals. It’s important to acknowledge them as well. That’s why the incentive and recognition segment of our industry is so valuable.

Through the years, I’ve received several industry awards. Our distributor business has won a couple of PPAI Pyramid Awards, the ASI Spirit Award for result driven marketing creativity, our screen printing won the Jerzees Great Wearable Art Competition. FreePromoTips has won two PPAI Technology awards. It’s nice to be recognized for our accomplishments, but I am now most excited about the opportunity to help others achieve their goals through our sales generating, innovative SuccessFit4Life! program.

My life has changed over the past few years. Instead of sleeping in on weekends, I’m up early for a run, ride, or a hike. I have a community of friends who have encouraged me on my fitness journey. Some of the goals I have set and met, have surprised me. I have done many events earning a medal that recognizes those accomplishments.

One of these special medals is for the Wings for Life World Run. This a worldwide event where everybody starts simultaneously and the finish line chases you with a “catcher car.” When the car reaches you, your race is done, and a bus takes you back to the start. 100% of all entry fees and all donations raised through fundraising campaigns goes directly to life-changing spinal cord research projects and clinical trials. It’s special to me because I was somewhat disabled for much of my life until I had fusion surgery.

I just completed my fourth Wings for Life, and it continues to be an event that inspires me. I’ve met some amazing people who have accomplished great goals, despite challenging circumstances.

While I don’t have a marathon on my bucket list, I have much respect for those who do them. At the 2017 Los Angeles Marathon, Team Runners Lane had over 70 people participate. That’s a significant number for a local running group. We have a GREAT aid station supporting our runners and others. The spirit of what we did at mile 22 is captured in this short video. It’s this group of people that keep me motivated.

Team Runners Lane inspired the creation of SuccessFit4Life! People who never would have considered doing a marathon accomplished that goal which the encouragement of this great group. In life and business, encouragement is the key to success.

The core of SuccessFit4Life! is to encourage other people on their wellness journey wherever they want to go. From my personal journey, we have created the SuccessFit4Life! WELLNESS PROGRAM for businesses and organizations of all sizes and fundraising SuccessFit4Life! EVENTS. SuccessFit4Life! will help you achieve your personal goals, and a select group of people will accomplish business building goals. Contact us if you would like to learn more about these sales generating programs.

Another medal I reflect fondly on is from our BEAST CHARITY RUN. The BEAST is about a 10-mile journey with an elevation of over 2000 feet. Each year we donate money to a worthy cause. Someone who is an inspiration to me donated the medals for this event.

It was a blessing that we made a connection with Ronald Davis, President of Indiana Metal Craft, an award-winning company that does awesome high-end medals. Ron caught the vision of what we are doing. As a runner, he was happy to support our event. It turns out that Ron is quite an athlete, running half marathons at age 71. I LOVE this picture he sent me. The sign on his back says: CAUTION 70 YEAR OLD IN FRONT OF YOU.

Many make jokes about doing events for the “bling.” Receiving medals is great, and some are nicer than others, but what’s important is what the medal represents.

Wherever you are in life, you can set goals and achieve goals. In our business lives, it’s helpful to connect with like-minded people who can encourage you. Consider involvement with your local Regional Association or connecting PromoKitchen.

As I look back, I’m so grateful I started moving which has changed my life in many ways. We share motivational slogans regularly in our SuccessFit4Life! Facebook Group and on our SuccessFit4Life! Twitter account. Join our INDUSTRY ONLY FPT SuccessFit4Life! Facebook Group and feel free to post what you like to do to stay active. Posting here is not really about you, it's about encouraging others. I’d like to close with this one: "A Year from Now You’d Wish You Started Today." Consider where you want to go in your life and do what it takes to get there.
