The Value of Team

I find it odd that at this stage of my life, I'm hanging out with a bunch of athletes. These athletes are all sizes, ages, and shapes. These people accept me for who I am.

Through my journey, I have accomplished many goals, the biggest physical goal is completing two half marathons along with a mud obstacle race and other athletic events.

13.1 miles is a long way to go for an old guy like me! Finishing is a win and I have accomplished this win with support of my Team.

What I’ve learned is that there is a value to Team. This applies in athletics, but also in business and in our families. Team Runners Lane is mentioned regularly in my writings because this Team is my Team.

The Team concept was made clear to me at a Team Runners Lane dinner celebration where we celebrated our #hashtagnar Team. They had just completed a Ragnar Trail Event, a challenging relay event on roads or trails that is ALL about Team.

When Captain Mark spoke about their Ragnar Race, he mentioned that some teams quit. Really? Our Team does not quit. This is a grueling event that needs a team to work. Running a 24-hour relay in grungy conditions with little to no sleep in not an individual sport. Teams stick together.

Captain Mark and another team member Amy Birnkrant helped me do my Down and Dirty Obsticle Race. Being part of a team means we can be best positioned to accomplish our individual personal goals.

I’ve been sharing my wellness journey on my SuccessFit4Life! Blog. One post, #RLAntiExcuseProject, refers to Team Runners Lane not making excuses. There are times it’s hot and times when it’s cold. Times when you are tired and times when you hurt. But through these times we try to not make excuses for why we can’t move. I cringe when I write that because I know there are times I do make excuses for not being more active, but I also live in reality. This is not about guilt, but it is about encouraging people. Frankly, when I don’t feel like running, I go because I like hanging out with my friends at Team Runners Lane.

Our wellness program SuccessFit4Life! was birthed from what I have experienced and the life-changing relationships I have built through Team Runners Lane. I realized that if an old, formally fatter guy with a fused ankle can get active, anyone can.

InSuccessFit4Life!” we have defined “success” as not about money or position. It’s about achieving the goals you define. We created this program to inspire, encourage and motivate people on their wellness journey…wherever they want to go.

In addition to changing lives through healthier living, we are changing kid’s lives through the amazing organization, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We have created a simple model that will enable businesses and organizations to raise money for St. Jude, and/or the non-profit organization of their choice. SuccessFit4Life! gives distributors an opportunity to sell products into this hot marketplace.

SuccessFit4Life! EVENTS are a “mixer” type event with a fund raising component benefiting worthy causes.  Fund raising is driven by branded product gift bags featuring sponsors logos.  The sponsor’s exposure goes far beyond the event as recipients use their branded products.

SuccessFit4Life! WELLNESS PROGRAMS offer many benefits for businesses and organizations of all sizes. Products are used to acknowledge achieving goals.

In today’s challenging marketplace, a distributor needs to bring something of value to clients.  I’m sure you see that these days, clients can buy whatever they want direct, or online cheap.  SuccessFit4Life! enables savvy distributors to sell products through a program that offers tangible benefits. It works on many levels.  If you would like to learn how you can take advantage if these sales opportunities contact us for more information.

In our personal lives and in business, a key to success is being part of a Team. Connect with like-minded people. Encourage them and let them encourage you. Set reasonable goals, and do what you need to do to achieve those goals. Go Team! Go You!

Surprising Wins

The Cubs coming from behind to win the World Series was surprising and what happened in our election was surprising. In each case, it took a team to win. Your reference to the importance of team in business is right on. We need to work together to achieve our goals.
